Jeff Murdock

Interim Worship Pastor

Jeff was born and raised in East Point, GA. His family was active in Jefferson Ave. Baptist Church, also in East Point, where he professed his faith in Christ and was baptized. It was during revival in 1974 that Jeff felt called to ministry through music. He earned an Associate in Music from Truett McConnell College (now University), a Bachelor of Music in music education from Carson Newman  College (now University), and a Master of Sacred Music in choral conducting from Mercer University.

He has served Baptist churches in GA on a full time, bi-vocatonal, interim and supply basis for 30 years as a music minister. In addition, he has had responsibilities in the areas of administration, education and student ministries. Jeff has sung with the Sons of Jubal, a male chorus of the Georgia Baptist Convention, since 1985. He has traveled to Russia, China, North Korea (yes, North Korea), Israel, and England with the Sons of Jubal mission trips. His family includes his wife, Renee, and two adult children, a son-in-law and three grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking, Andy Griffith reruns and UGA football.
